Mike Has MS

Celebrity Chef

Yesterday, I was printing holiday card mailing labels for one of our business units. This is the group that builds a lot of restaurants. On the first page, a name totally jumped off at me. It’s a certain celebrity chef that I see on TV a lot and totally idolize. I called the VP’s assistant to get the scoop. She says that the VP has a great relationship with said celebrity chef. In fact, our company has built several of his restaurants.

This morning, I ran into that VP and told him how he totally made my day. I asked what the guy was really like as opposed to what we see on TV. He said he’s a great guy and that he can be tough in the kitchen as one would expect from an executive chef. He said that he’d try to get me an autographed copy of one of his cookbooks.

How fucking cool is that?

  1. That’s pretty fucking cool!  I hope the book comes through for you.

Lately, I’ve been exploring Tagine as well as other North African cuisine.  Our guests and family love it and Fritz’s only request is to omit the olives as he can’t stand them for some reason.

About

My name is Mike Hillwig and I live in Boston with my pug, Reggie. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in January 2003 but have been living with MS for much longer than that. This is where you'll find my story, stories, and my history.

I want this site to be a place where people can read about my experiences with MS. I was fortunate enough to catch it really early and my results on drug therapies have been outstanding. This should be a place where people can realize that they can lead a normal life with MS. MS has changed my life, but it hasn't ended it.
